ABOUT

Alison Klymchuk (b. 1999 in Toronto*) is a Ukrainian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist based in Berlin, Germany. She holds a BFA with a minor in Art History from the University of Victoria, located on unceded Lekwungen territory. Alison works in painting, sculpture, photography, installation, and urban intervention. Her process has organically evolved through the dynamics of observing and mapping patterns in city spaces as they relate to her roots, social culture and power structures.

Klymchuk was an artist in residence at the Berlin Art Institute in 2022. Her work has been exhibited in solo exhibitions across Canada including Daniels Spectrum (Hallway Galleries) and the Ministry of Casual Living. Recent group exhibitions include 100% Silk Shop + Gallery, Gallery 1313, and Esquimalt Community Arts Hub. In 2021, she was nominated for the BMO 1st Art! Award.
